4LS go to the Ballet

4LS become balletomanes!

On Thursday May 2nd 4LS were lucky enough to visit the Royal Opera House to watch the ballet La Bayadère. This is a traditional classical ballet, choreographed by Marius Petipa, with music by Minkus.
It was a fabulous afternoon, here are some of the children’s comments.
The theatre was a fantasy, I couldn’t believe my own eyes.
It had dazzling gold and blood-red colour everywhere.
It was like heaven- but smaller
It was a wonder for the eyes.
It looked royal- like its name.
When I first entered I took two steps back in astonishment.
We towered over the orchestra pit like a bird.
And as for the ballet!
Blinding and breathtaking.
I didn’t even fidget.
I was enthralled.
The dancers made everything look so easy.
It was epic when the Bronze Idol disappeared.
I didn’t want to blink in case I missed something.
I felt as though I was in a dream.
You couldn’t believe how tremendous it was.
I was on the edge of my seat as the dancers leapt and spun.
It was like watching a big classical disco!

I think they enjoyed it!
