6LS Sewing Slippers

Published

6LS really enjoyed their design and technology lesson last week as they began cutting and sewing their slippers.

In preparation for the making of the slippers the Year 6 pupils spent some weeks investigating the design, purpose and constructions of slippers, before brainstorming initial design ideas for their own pair. Pupils then created paper patterns to fit their own feet and made a mock slipper out of dishcloth material.

Once pupils had made sure that their own design was complete and their mock slipper fitted them, they began to cut out and sew the pieces of fabric and strengthening materials needed for the construction of their own pair of slippers. Do go to our gallery to see them at work.

We look forward to seeing the finished products in a couple of weeks time!
