6LY’s Guy Fawkes Assembly - Tolerance and Religious Freedom
6LY have been working hard since half term to put together their Guy Fawkes assembly.
Combining learning from history, RE, English, music, art and drama 6LY's assembly was a truly cross-curricular production. The class made their own props, learned a new song, incorporated poetry and created a series of narrated freeze-frames to dramatically retell the story of the fateful events of November 5th, 1605.
The assembly ended with a thoughtful prayer. We gave thanks and reflected on the religious freedom which we enjoy in our country today, a privilege which the people of England did not have four hundred years ago, and which many Christians around the world still do not enjoy today.
