Year 6 Explore Life in World War Two

Published

On Thursday of last week 6KW entertained pupils, families and friends with their creative assembly on life in the Second World War.

Drawing on what they have been studying in history, 6KW explained how the war began and showed us the effect of the war on the British people. The pupils used narration, drama, costume and song to teach us about evacuation, air raids and the inspirational leadership of the British Prime minister, Winston Churchil. Do go to the latest gallery to see pictures of their great performance.

At the end of their assembly Year 6 reminded us that there are many today still serving our country in the armed forces. Prayers were said for those still in active service, as well as in remembrance of the fallen.

It was a thoughtful end to a wonderful assembly. Well done Mrs Willcox and 6KW!
