A World War II Evacuee Visits Year 6

The House Captains were first to meet Mr Bartlett.
The children were shocked at the rations for a week!
Roy explained how restrictive and uncomfortable gas masks were!

We were delighted to welcome Mr Bartlett, the author of 'A Little Boy's War,' to Year 6 last week.

The children learnt about life as an evacuee and about life in Ealing during the war and were captivated and listened intently.  The children had so many thoughtful questions to ask! It was great to bring this topic to life, through the eyes of a real life witness.  We thank Roy Bartlett for giving up his time to talk to us.  Look out for Roy on the BBC's 'Songs of Praise' on the 9th of December!
