Anti-Bullying Week in Year 1

Published

To raise awareness for Anti-Bullying Week, the children in year 1 have been busy making paper chains to take part in a communication experiment. The children made short paper chains and attached themselves to a friend and went out for afternoon play. The experiment was to see if the children could communicate effectively with their friend and not break the chain. We had a great amount of successful results and the children’s feedback was extremely positive as they all expressed the importance of listening to their friend, compromising on activities and taking turns.

The children were then read a story ‘There’s a Bear on my Chair’ and discussed in depth what the best way to communicate with someone would be and how to be brave to approach someone if something is making them feel sad.
