Black History Month

Published

Year 6 are looking forward to celebrating Black History Month this October by investigating and emulating the work of the African American artist,  Aaron Douglas. Often called 'The Father of African American Art', Douglas uses silhouette and tonal backgrounds to create vibrant pieces which reflect his heritage and culture. In addition, as Year 6 look at the importance of being good role models in their P.S.H.E lessons, they will be drawing inspiration from studying the lives of outstanding members of the Black community who have helped shape our modern world.
