Brilliant Baking

Year 6 were inspired by a Rights Respecting School assembly on the plight of refugees around the world to organise a Bake Sale for the charity Refugee Action. Refugee Action works with refugees escaping conflict and persecution, helping them to build new lives.

In preparation for the sale Year 6 spent days baking, icing, and poster making. The resulting mountain of biscuits, cookies, muffins and cakes was amazing - and the amount they sold for even more incredible - £295.79 was raised!

Well done Year 6 for demonstrating your compassion for others so practically. Thanks to all the parents who let the Year 6s take over the kitchens at home and to all who came to expand their waistlines by buying at the sale.

Special thanks go to 6LR who came up with the idea, and to Miss Rodgers who co-ordinated the sale. We're proud of you Year 6!
