Having won the tournament the previous year, Christ the Saviour set out this year, ready to defend their title.

A team made up of Christ the Saviour staff, faced up against different schools in the Ealing borough, to play a fantastic tournament of football.

Full of determination, Christ the Saviour entered the group stages. They started, with a 4 - 0 win, with 3 goals being scored by Coach Bilal and another added by Mr. Hingley. This was followed by a convincing 3 - 0 win, with Coach Bilal scoring 2 more and Coach Karl clinically scoring the third.

The third game proved to be one of Christ the Saviour’s toughest matches. Having gone down 1 - 0 to an early deflection, Coach Bilal managed to pull it back to 1 - 1. Just as a draw seemed inevitable, a last minute run from deep by Mr. Palmer, saw him smashing the ball home for another superb Christ the Saviour win.  The final game of the group stages was a hard fought 1 - 0 win, Coach Bilal scoring his seventh goal of the tournament and Mr. Koya making some wonderfully, athletic saves.

As the defending champions and with a 100% win record, Christ the Saviour headed to the semi-finals as the team to beat. Christ the Saviour struck early through Coach Bilal, only to find themselves level moments later. However, Christ the Saviour dug deep and with Coach Bilal scoring his ninth goal of the tournament, made it through to the final.

As the final began, there were clear nerves among the teams. Nevertheless, this was quickly settled when Coach Bilal fired home his tenth goal of the tournament. With the wind in their sails, Christ the Saviour grew in confidence and continued to press their advantage. With some marvellous footwork, Mr. Hingley gave Christ the Saviour an unassailable lead. A few superb saves from Mr. Koya and excellent defending by Mr. Hingley, Mr. Palmer and Coach Karl, meant Christ the Saviour were able to hold out for the win.

Jubilant and triumphant, Christ the Saviour celebrated defending their title.

Thank you to Willow Tree Primary School and Larkspur Rover FC, for organising the tournament.

Well done to Mr. Koya, Coach Karl, Coach Bilal, Mr. Durrell, Mr. Hingley, Mr. Palmer and Mr. Taylor!
