Experiencing the Blitz with 6LS

Published

We were all plunged into darkness on Thursday morning as the air raid siren wailed, the blackout began and 6LS took us on a journey to experience life in the Second World War.

Through drama, speeches, music and costume Year 6 shared with us what life may have been like for many during the 1940s. Using the knowledge they had gained in their history lessons and their trip to RAF Hendon, the pupils were able to teach us about air raids, evacuees and the Battle of Britain. They even sung us all a wartime song and ended their assembly with some typical wartime dance hall music.

You can see more of their exciting assembly and costumes in our gallery.
