Fairground Ride Fun

Published

Year 6 ended the summer term with a wonderful DT project - building their own Fairground Rides.

Pupils had to combine their knowledge of electrical circuits, which they studied in science earlier in the term, with practical skills as they sought to build a working drive and pulley mechanism to power their ride.

After investigation and research into different types of fairground ride and their intended target groups, pupils chose a target market for their ride and designed a ride to appeal to their chosen audience. Would you have preferred to ride on the Skull Spinner or the Candyland Carousel?

Year 6 worked collaboratively in small groups on this project and by the last day of term we had over 40 spinning and swirling fairground rides all going at the same time. Do look at our latest album to see just some of the rides which were created. Well done Year 6!
