Football Report

Last Thursday the CtS football team travelled to William Perkins to compete in a year 5 and 6 football tournament involving schools from all across the borough. The boys started off brightly, winning their opening game 2-0 and with very little rest in-between matches. After the first 4 matches, the team had one win, two draws and a defeat. We faced an uphill challenge to try and gain some silverware and needed to beat a very strong St. Gregory's side. It was a tight affair during the early exchanges and after a couple of close chances, we managed to take the lead with an excellent goal and doubled our lead soon thereafter which guaranteed a third place medal in our first tournament together. The whole team demonstrated a fantastic attitude and showed excellent sportsmanship. I am extremely proud of them all and look forward to more competitions and bringing back more silverware to CtS.
