Friday Fun in Year 6

Published

Friday afternoon is one of Year 6's favourite times of the week as we focus on the more creative side of the curriculum. Every week on a Friday the three Year 6 classes rotate Design and Technology, Art and Computing.

This term in computing Year 6 have been making videos about the causes and effects of global warming. Pupils have learned how to combine images, text and sound into an effective and persuasive two minute video piece. In art Year 6 have been producing tornado and tsunami pieces inspired by their geography topic of extreme weather, and in DT they have been making the slippers which they designed last term.

This week 6LY were cutting, sewing and embellishing their slippers. Pupils are using a range of techniques to carry out their designs, including collage, applique, fabric pens and embroidery. Some of the results are truly fantastic! For more pictures of them hard at work do go to our latest album.
