The House Captain Candidates 2018

On Friday there was a real sense of excitement in the school as everyone prepared for the much anticipated House Captain elections of 2018.

A record number of Year 6 candidates put themselves forward - 67 pupils in total stood for election - making it a very hard decision for the rest of the school who have to choose only 8 pupils to represent them as their House Captains.

The candidates had prepared a one minute speech each and created posters and leaflets to promote themselves. On Friday morning all the pupils in Years 1 - 6 gathered in their houses to listen to the speeches and to cast their votes. Pupils and staff alike were impressed with the confident public speaking, innovative ideas and creative campaigning shown by the Year 6 pupils.  A huge well done to everyone who took part!

It was a fantastic morning, a taste of democracy in action for everyone in the school.

With nearly 1500 votes cast the counting is till going on...the results will be announced on Monday morning!
