Makaton Comes to the Grove Site

Published

This morning we were joined by the Singing Hands group, who had the whole school singing, signing and communicating using Makaton.  Suzanne and Tracy, from Singing Hands, will be well known to viewers of the CBeebies programme Mr Tumble.  Makaton is a system which uses signing, speech and objects to help to support communication, particularly for those with learning difficulties.  It helps to ensure inclusion for all members of the school community.   We had a wonderful morning and will be using Makaton around the school in future.  To find out more about Singing Hands and Makaton, click here.
