Learning about Families in Nursery

Published

We have had a wonderful half term learning all about families. The children have shared family traditions, special occasions and how their families are special to them.

We had a wonderful visit from a parent and her five month baby. She showed us how to care for and look after a baby. The children found this very enjoyable as lots of our children have siblings themselves and were able to explain the importance of caring for their younger brothers or sisters.

We have enjoyed small group reading sessions and one of the books we have shared is 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea'. This has given us lots of opportunities to role play, use story language and retell the book.  We even had our own tea party!

Thank you to our children for sharing their family photos which are all displayed.  Do please take a look at them when you next visit the nursery. See photos here.
