“Read all about it!”

"Read all about it! Martin Luther King makes an important speech."

6AB led an engaging assembly on Black History Month this morning. We heard about the lives of many inspirational people who spent their time striving for justice and equality for all. They reminded us of Martin Luther King's famous "I have a dream" speech. In preparing for this assembly, the class wrote their own speeches in this vein. Here are some examples:

"I have a dream that one day this nation will be able to join as a team of all races and religions. I have a dream that one day no one (not even the weakest and loneliest person) will ever sleep on the streets." - Aanya

"I have a dream that one day this nation will join together to stop pain and suffering. I have a dream that one day everyone will be rich in happiness." - Emily

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up to help all people be treated equally. I have a dream that one day all people can have the same opportunities to succeed in life" - Harry
