Tate Britain Year 3 Project

Year 3 are very excited to be taking part in the Tate Year 3 project.  Turner Prize-winning artist and Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen has unveiled one of his most ambitious contemporary art projects to date. He has invited every primary school in London to be part of a giant collective portrait. It will capture tens of thousands of Year 3 schoolchildren in a milestone year in their development that will be ‘an epic picture of the city’s present and an intimation of its future.’ From November 2019 to May 2020, the Duveen Galleries at Tate Britain will be taken over by a vast installation of the photographs, free for all to visit. Yesterday, a photographer visited the school to take photographs of each Year 3 class. The children enjoyed a workshop followed by a Q and A session with the photographer. They cannot wait to see themselves on display next year!
