Year 2 meet Florence Nightingale

Published

Year 2 were greeted at Gunnersbury Park Museum by Ealing’s very own Florence Nightingale.  She shared many fascinating details about her life and her role in the Crimean war and beyond.  Pupils loved learning about the different clothes people wore at that time and got the opportunity to dress up in some of them.  Children  were able to compare some differences in our lives today and peoples lives in the past through different objects and artefacts.
Pupils also got the opportunity to explore the newly renovated museum and try out it’s new exhibits.  It is safe to say the children thoroughly enjoyed playing with the museum's collection of old toys and learning about the lives and roles of people who lived in the house in the Victorian era.
