Last week year 3 had a wonderful visit from Mary Anning. During her visit she spoke to the children about her interesting childhood and how she became involved in fossil hunting. She showed the children a variety of fossils and pictures of what the animals used to look like. The children were excited to learn about these, and were very interested in the 'Ichthyosaurus' which was one of Mary Annings unique finds. Mary explained to the children how she helped pave the way for other paleontologists and helped people better understand the past. The children were very impressed that Mary Anning achieved so much in her life without being formally educated. It was an exciting visit and very educational!
