Year 5 Make Bread!

Published

Today, year 5 put their baking skills to the test when they created their own bread roll. Through careful market research, the children designed a bread roll with either a sweet or savoury added ingredient. From chocolate chips, to cheese to honeycomb and olives, the children all added something special to the orginial bread dough. The designs were superb, with twists, plaits, swirls and baguettes, the children all thought carefully about how their roll would look most attractive and shaped it carefully. The end result was maginifcent, with a wonderful aroma circulating on the Year 5 floor when the rolls were brought back up to the classroom once baked. The children definitely enjoyed making the bread but as you can see from the photos, eating them was a real treat and exciting part too!
