Year 5 National Gallery Visit

Published

In his painting, The Supper at Emmaus, Caravaggio gives great emphasis to the still life on the table

This afternoon, 5AL visited the National Gallery to learn more about still life painting. We viewed artworks by Caravaggio, Treck, Van Gogh and Van Huysum. We were intrigued by how these artists had chosen their still life objects for their symbolic meaning which reveal a hidden story or idea. We are looking forward to creating our own still life artworks over the next few weeks.
