Year 5 visit to the National Gallery

Published

Linking in with the 'Take One Picture' writing units in our English lessons, Year 5 travelled to the National Gallery to further their understanding of how stories are told through paintings. The children used their developing inference skills to pick out clues from the paintings which helped to tell the story of the characters.

The children particularly enjoyed seeing the paintings they had been studying in class displayed in the gallery- there was so much excitement over the Bacchus and Ariande painting! Take a look our Flickr gallery to see a few more photos from the visit.
