Year 6 Big Write Poetry

Published

Last Friday Year 6 let their poetic imaginations loose on the Big Talk topic of a balloon that has slipped out of somebody's hand. One of the many excellent poems that was written is  below, written by Fred Peaty in 6LR. Enjoy!

An Escaped Balloon

Drifting away,

Sob, sob, sob from below,

but free!

Cruising along,

Spying miniature houses,

Cars as small as peas rolling about on a plate,

people as small as germs.

Getting higher and higher,

explanding,

then with a pop!

Plummeting down, down, down

Like a bullet from a gun,

then clunk.

Useless,

deflated,

and no longer free.
