Year 6 - Ealing in the Blitz

Published

This week Year 6 have been enjoying their local history study of 'Ealing during the Second World War'.

Pupils were given the task of finding out which areas of Ealing were bombed during the Blitz. Using their Chromebooks to access the website www.bombsight.org, pupils discovered how many bombs fell close to our school during the bombings of September 1940 - May 1941.

Pupils then went on to explore whether the places where they now live were affected by the bombs that fell during the Blitz. Many pupils were shocked to find out that bombs had fallen right in the street where they now live!

Was your street, church or local area bombed during the Second World War? Ask a Year 6 Pupil to help you find out!
