Year 6 Enrichment Day

Today Year 6 had a wonderful morning of activities inspired by this term's class novels.

In Mr Palmer's classroom the inspiration was 'Kenuske's Kingdom' by Micahel Morpurgo. Tropical fruit was tasted and enjoyed as the pupils competed to see who could build the most 'sea worthy' boat. Mrs Yates' classroom was inspired by a topic that comes up in the novel 'Skellig'; in her room Greek Gods and Goddesses feasted on delicacies whilst making Pandora's boxes. In Mrs Larson and Mrs Willcox's rooms, 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' encouraged the eating of lots of spicy Asian snacks and the construction of erupting volcanoes.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the dressing up, creativity, team work, co-operation and new experiences which the novels inspired. To see more pictures of their great day please go to our latest Year 6  photo album in the gallery.
