Year 6 Extreme Earth Art
In Geography this term Year 6 have been studying our 'Extreme Earth', looking at the forces of nature and the coldest, hottest, wildest, windiest and wettest aspects of our planet.
Our 'Extreme Earth' studies have proved an inspiration for our art work, as we used pencil crayons and perspective to create colourful, spiralling tornadoes.
We then went on to study the woodblock print, 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa', by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. This famous piece of art inspired us with its shape and form to create pieces of art that combined patterns in ink pen with dramatic painted backgrounds.
