Year 6 pupils check out the Milestones of Flight at RAF Hendon

Year 6 had the privilege of visiting one of the best resourced and awe inspiring museums in the country. RAF Hendon is home to a liteny of iconic airborn vessels such as the Supermarine Spitfire, Messerschmitt Bf 109 and the Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter - to name but a few. As well as learning about the history of air flight pupils also had the opportunity to take part in a number of engaging workshops. Children experienced making gas mask cases and watched "Our Finest Hour"; an audio visual extravaganza that detailed the story of the Blitz and the importance of the Supermarine Spitfire in defending the skies of Great Britain and preventing an invasion by Nazi Germany.
