Chinese New Year in Reception!

In Reception, we had a wonderful time learning about Chinese New Year! A parent visitor shared her cultural celebrations with us, bringing in beautiful decorations, chopsticks, and traditional items for the children to explore.

As we have been learning how to ask and answer questions, the children prepared thoughtful questions and had the opportunity to find out more about the festival.

Building on their learning about celebrations in the autumn term, they confidently used key vocabulary and made comparisons to their own cultural celebrations. To mark the Year of the Snake, they created colourful snake crafts and made their own red lanterns to represent good luck!
