13 Feb Meeting Florence Nightingale
This term, Year 2 has been learning about the impact Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole had on nursing. To learn more about this topic and to do some hands-on learning we took the tube to Gunnersbury Park and explored the museum together.
We really enjoyed looking at different displays in the museum and thinking about the different materials used to make toys over time. We also really enjoyed trying on hats, clothes and wigs and thinking about how fashion has changed.
Each class also participated in a Florence Nightingale workshop. Children listened to ‘Florence Nightingale’ talk about her life and were invited to become nurses, doctors, soldiers and patients too! Thank you to all parent volunteers, we could not have done this trip without you!
