11 Mar World Book Day 2025
Friday 7th March was World Book Day at Christ the Saviour.
World Book Day is always a really exciting and enjoyable day at school. This year, we chose to focus on the calm and mindfulness that reading can bring us. Classes took part in many calm reading activities: teacher story swaps; quiet reading time (including the adults!) and book advent, to name a few!
All pupils (and adults) dressed up as their favourite characters from books including The Hunger Games buy Suzanne Collins, Whatever Next by Jill Murphy, Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers and Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie. There were some extraordinary costumes that truly showed us the joy and magic books and stories can bring.
Year 2 and Year 4 children also visited Waterstones in Ealing Broadway to spend their book tokens. The staff were very welcoming: they read each class a story and helped the pupils choose their favourite book from the amazing selection of World Book Day special books. It was so much fun!
We hope everyone had a magical book day and has continued to experience the magic, calm and mindful qualities of reading and stories.
