14 Mar Year 3 Football Festival
A group of Year 3 girls had a lovely morning on Friday 7th March at a football festival held at Wasps FC / Twyford Sports Ground. The event was designed to to give younger children the opportunity to learn new skills, enjoy physical activity and experience the excitement of an inter-school event and the girls were encouraged to demonstrate the School Games Value of self-belief.
The girls enjoyed the experience of travelling and playing with the older Year 6 girls who were attending as sports leaders. It was lovely to see the older ones showing the younger ones how to put their shin pads on!
The team tried out a variety of football-related activities in a carousel-style format, scoring points and goals, passing, dribbling, playing and learning. They were very hungry and tired by lunchtime! Feeling rejuvenated after their lunch break, they returned to school in time to change into World Book Day costumes for the afternoon.
