25 Mar Easter Bonnets and Hats!
Decorating an Easter bonnet is a colourful tradition that goes back to when people would wear new clothes to church on Easter day, including a fancy new hat – or bonnet. It symbolises new beginnings and reminds Christians of the new life the resurrection of Jesus brings.
All of our pupils and staff, from Nursery to Year 6, are invited to make an Easter Bonnet or Hat to wear to school on Wednesday 2nd April. Children can either decorate an existing hat or make a simple hat for themselves out of paper or card and then decorate it on an Easter theme. There will be an opportunity for children to make a simple bonnet in class on the day if they are unable to make one at home.
We hope that some of the instructions, templates and resources below will help support you and inspire you as you have fun creating your bonnets and hats together!
