22 Oct Year 2 are Amazing Architects
This week, Year 2 went on an exciting trip to Pitzhanger Manor and took part in the Architect’s Apprentice Workshop.
Taking on the role of architects was so much fun! We explored skyscrapers and bridges around the world, and discussed the different types of shapes they could see.
The day’s tasks involved using our knowledge of materials from this term’s science unit to support the making of our constructions. We used our curious minds to explore and test a range of materials and methods to build strong and steady structures.
We built structures of all different shapes, sizes and designs to see which would be the most successful at standing on its own.
Building structures wasn’t easy so good team work and lots of resilience was required of us so we could complete the task to our best ability!
