Our School Vision: Rooted in our Christian foundation, we are an aspirational community loving and serving God. We seek to recognise and develop our unique gifts in accordance with the biblical principles of inclusiveness, tolerance and love, preparing children to be educated citizens in a global world.

The deeply Christian vision powerfully underpins everyone and everything at Christ the Saviour, giving consistently shared purpose to our school’s vocation. Our vision, based on the first epistle of Peter, influences all to understand their part in our interdependent community.

At Christ the Saviour we believe every child has unique gifts which can be used in service to God. Staff seek to recognise these gifts and when you visit our school we hope you will notice the language staff use to help children recognise the gifts they possess:

You spoke really well in front of the class, seems like you may have a gift for public-speaking.

Thank you, you used your gift of friendship to support your friend at playtime.

You always make people feel better, by using your gift of encouragement.

You seem to have a real gift for writing, your stories are always so engaging and well-written.

All staff have a shared purpose of developing pupils holistically and the vision-driven belief in being the advocate for every pupil brings aspiration for all.

Ethan shared the following words to encourage children who may not feel they have had their gifts recognised yet:

Popcorn is prepared in the same pot, in the same heat, in the same oil and yet, the kernels do not pop at the same time. Don’t compare yourself to others, your time to pop is coming!

The Gospel words from 1 Peter 4:10 drive our school vision along with our core values of inclusiveness, tolerance and love.

Our School Vision

Rooted in our Christian foundation, we are an aspirational community loving and serving God. We seek to recognise and develop our unique gifts in accordance with the biblical principles of inclusiveness, tolerance and love, preparing children to be educated citizens in a global world.

Context and background to our Vision

The 1887 document which grants to the Minister and Churchwardens of the parish the land upon which the Broadway site now stands, states clearly that the land is to be used “for the education of children and adults only of the labouring manufacturing and other poorer classes in the said District of Christ Church Ealing aforesaid and as a residence for the teacher or teachers of the said school.”

This document shows how the vision of being an inclusive school has been at the heart of our school right from the start, offering education to all children (not just boys) and for adults too! Our school community continues to be a thriving and inclusive one with children coming from 40 different countries and speaking 50 different languages!

Pupils from Nursery to Year 6 helped us to share the depth of our vision through a home learning project in the Spring Term.

Nursery and Reception pupils learnt more about our key value of Love and they created some wonderful drawings of their friends at school, photographs or drawings of people who help them and care for them in our school community and poems on the theme of love (these are on display at the Grove Site.)

Year 2 and Year 5 carried out a research project on our Christian foundation.

At Christ the Saviour we have a deep history that now spans three centuries. We are blessed with a stable community with many generations of families attending the school and lots of children were able to interview siblings, parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents who attended the school. Other children researched some amazing facts about the school’s history or created some fantastic art work to represent the school.

Year 1 and Year 4 spent time learning more about our God-given gifts. Some children wrote about their own gifts and some shared the gifts they have recognised in others. Nia-Ama found a gift for each member of her class! Adannaya recognised that “God gives everyone a gift but it is up to us to praise God by using our gifts well and helping people.”

Year 3 pupils learnt about our key values of Inclusiveness, tolerance and love

Pupils reflected on what it means to be an inclusive and tolerant community at Christ the Saviour. We had a wide range of wonderful examples of work including poems, interviews, drawings and art work.

A Poem on Inclusiveness by Danny

Started school in January
Welcomed with a smile voluntarily
Dressed identical to my friendly school community
Happy to help with every opportunity.

Meeting new friends, children of the world
Accepting individual differences as caring whirled,
I belong and feel treasured within my school
Respected, confident, encouraged and cool.

Everyone loved by God, differences celebrated
Parents and teachers engagement demonstrated
Our school is where we are valued, accepted and loved
For God, the Church and all the above!

Year 6 students created some outstanding projects based on the theme, “Educated citizens in a global world”

Children showed that they were hugely proud of our international school community and the global learning that weaves throughout our curriculum. This project was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about the cultural heritage of their friends, create some amazing art work representing our global community and learn more about their chosen countries.
