29 Jun Results of the Maths Week Challenge
Congratulations to everybody who participated in the ‘Times Tables Rockstar London Rocks Competition’ during Maths Week London last week. Maths Week London is all about building children’s confidence, nurturing a love of maths and sparking an interest in a subject that impacts all of our lives, every day. It was fantastic to see so many of our pupils getting involved, both those who are learning from home and those who are currently in school.
London Rocks 2020 ran from 22nd June to 26th June and challenged all classes in London schools to correctly answer as many times tables questions as they could. Pupils dedicated time each day between 2pm and 7pm to answering multiplication and division fact questions, earning a point for each question correctly answered.
The results are now in and it was a valiant effort from our pupils.
As a school:
CtS came 79th out of the tens of thousands of schools that entered the competition with 100,878 multiplication and division fact questions answered correctly in just 5 days.
Highest Placed Maths Group by Total:
Ms Nicholls mathematics group had the highest total of correct answers in our school with 40,312
Highest Placed Maths Group by average score per class member:
Ms Nicholls class also had the highest score per class member with 1,832 questions answered correctly by each member of the class.

Well done to everyone who took part in the challenge and we are already looking forward to next year’s Maths Week London. In the meantime pupils can continue to log on to Times Tables Rockstars while at home or at specific times during the school day to practice their recall of multiplication and division facts.
