10 Feb Kurling Competition
Today a group of Year 3 and 4 children went to Cardinal Wiseman School to take part in an indoor Kurling competition! It was a new sport for all the children there so everyone learned new skills as well as having a fun morning.
Whilst you may have seen Curling in the Winter Olympics where it is played on ice, indoor Kurling does not require freezing temperatures or an ice rink. Instead, players have to slide the stones to the target along a smooth wooden floor. Getting just the right amount of ‘push’ on the stones, as well as aiming them in the right direction is quite a challenge.
Ms Jolliffe was proud of everyone who competed and thought it was lovely to see how all the team supported one another with kindness, compassion and advice. We entered two teams in the competition and one of our teams were very proud to win the ‘Spirit of the Games’ trophy for the passion which they displayed. Well done everyone!
