22 Mar Bishop Lusa Visits
We were delighted to welcome the Bishop of Willesden, Bishop Lusa, to CtS today as he visited our school as part of his ‘Pilgrimage of Prayer’.
Our Year 4, 5 and 6 worship leaders enjoyed asking the Bishop questions, learning about how he grew up in a Christian family in Africa and had been taught about Jesus from a young age. Bishop Lusa explained that his parents were his first inspiration and that he has had the priviliege of living and going to church in several different countries! He shared how the writings of Martin Luther King inspired him as a teenager to live out his faith in society and that the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has been another inspiration in his life. Bishop Lusa commented that he really enjoys being a bishop and particularly likes the parts of his job that enable him to reach out and help the vulnerable.
When asked about what his vision was for the future Bishop Lusa shared that his dream would be to one day go back to the Congo and to do a reconciliation ministry there.
It was a real pleasure and inspiration for our worship leaders to meet with Bishop Lusa, to pray with him and to walk with him to his next place of prayer. Thank you so much for coming!
