As part of their art curriculum Year 2 have been learning about the work of Bernard Hoyes.
Bernard Hoyes is a Jamaican-born artist who is well known for his large colourful paintings of ladies dancing. Through his art, many people have been able to connect with Jamaica’s colourful traditions and cultures.
Year 2 were inspired by Bernard Hoyes’ work to create their own dancing ladies in oil pastels, full of colour movement and pattern! Enjoy some of their work by clicking on the examples in the gallery below:
