13 Mar World Book Day 2024
Friday 8th March was World Book Day at Christ the Saviour: a time to celebrate books, reading and our love of stories!
Children (and adults) at the Grove and the Broadway site showed off their favourite storybook characters, dressing up in their finery! We saw a myriad of stories represented including Mog the Cat, Mary Poppins, The Monkey King, Matilda, Fantastic Mr Fox, Greta and the Giants, The Cat in the Hat, Dogman, Harry Potter (with a particularly terrifying Mad Eye Moody!) and so many more more!
World Book Day 2024 also marks the beginning of our very special 2 week reading events ReadFest. ReadFest is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate books, reading and stories. The ReadFest Programme of Events will give details of everything to look forward to including book buddy reading swaps, parents reading in class in another language and a parent book club! In addition, every year group will be visited by an author, illustrator or storyteller!
The children are so excited and we hope you can get excited too by supporting the children to complete the reading challenges in the front of the ReadFest programme, attending the book club or the PTA second hand book sale!
