15 Mar Prom Praise for Schools 2024
On Tuesday, 12th March members of our school choir traveled to the Royal Albert Hall to join the All Souls Orchestra and other schools in this year’s Prom Praise for Schools.
The theme was ‘King David – a hero’s journey‘ following the story of David from humble beginnings as a shepherd to his crowning as King. We had rehearsed the songs and were ready to join the amassed choir of schools, accompanied by the professional orchestra and to sit within the spectacular surroundings of the Royal Albert Hall.
The Royal Albert Hall, opened by Queen Victoria in 1871, has a seating capacity of 5,272 and is the venue for the BBC Proms concerts and has hosted people from various fields over the years including speeches by Winston Churchill and Albert Einstein as well as many world renowned music performers. What a thrill to have the experience to perform in such a prestigious venue!
We have focussed on the Christian Value of Service during Lent and this occasion was a fantastic way for members of our wonderful choir to share their gifts with a wider audience in praise and Glory to God. We were particularly proud of how well the choir represented the school throughout the day and were exemplary in their conduct and behaviour!
