23 Mar Mental Health Champions
Our UKS2 Mental Health Champions have been busy over the last 5 months, learning about listening strategies and how to make sure other peers feel listened to and heard. They are going to be supporting children across the school who have everyday worries such as school work and friendships.
This week, our MHCs have shared in assembly about all they have learned and they are busy creating a display with lots of information for the Broadway Atrium. There will be a place, on each KS2 floor, to sign up to talk to them later in the Summer term.
Finally, it is important to remember that if children have a really big worry that is making them feel scared and uncomfortable they need to seek help and guidance from a trusted adult such as a teacher or a family member.
Some comments the Mental Health Champions said is a recent discussion:
‘I’m already using my mental health training to help my friends when they are a bit down.’
‘I look forward to going to mental health lessons each week. I feel like I can listen to people much better now.’
‘So glad I joined this group because I now think I’d like to do something like this as a job.’
