23 Jun New Travel Ambassadors
We are delighted that our Year 4 School Council reps have taken up the role of becoming our new Travel Ambassadors for the school.
Their first task has been to record a video for the whole school to encourage us all to travel to school in ways which are both good for us and also good for the envirnoment. By choosing to use public transport or by choosing to walk, cycle or scoot to school we can reduce pollution and help care for God’s creation.
Our School Street at the Grove Site helps all our younger pupils to be active on their journeys to school. At the Broadway site we can see from our overflowing bike racks that many pupils are choosing to travel to school in an active and healthy way.
If you live too far away from our school to walk, cycle or scoot and you have to come by car, our travel ambassadors would like to encourage you to ‘Park and Stride‘ in order to help reduce the traffic, noise and pollution around our school. Park and Stride means driving to school but parking your car a little way from the school and then completing the rest of the journey on foot – this makes the streets around our school safer and less congested and also provides an opportunity for exercise for everyone in the family! A win-win!
To support you in your decision to ‘Park and Stride’ you can find a map of free parking places within 10 minutes walk of our school site on our ‘Travelling to School‘ web page.
