23 Nov A Christmas Carol Worskhop
This week, the Year 6 children took part in a drama workshop, where they got to play the most grumpy Christmas character in history…Ebeneezer Scrooge. The workshop revolved around their English text ‘A Christmas Carol’, and among various activities, the children presented their own interpretations of important events in Scrooge’s life.
“When I played the young Scrooge I sat, sad and solitary in a library, without a home to go to. But doing this made me really think, it was no wonder he was so grumpy later. It changed my view on him.’
‘It helped me to remember the story better because the book uses old, archaic language sometimes but this brought it to life a bit more for me.’
Luckily, there won’t be a visit from that old humbug, Mr Scrooge at our Christingle Fair on Friday 6th December, where we hope to see you all!
