08 Dec Year 3 Pedestrian Training
Following on from our road safety week, all of our Year 3 classes took part in a Pedestrian skills workshop. The aim of the workshop was to embed the children’s learning about how to cross roads safely; the workshop involved both teaching and discussion in the classroom and then practical application.
The children went on a short local walk to make sure that they could apply the skills they had learned in a real life situation. The children visited some of the zebra and pelican crossings near our school and also practised identifying a safe place to cross if there was no crossing. The children remembered not to cross near parked cars and they applied the basic road safety rules of: Stop, Look, Listen, Think to help them cross safely.
Well done Year 3 – we hope that you share all you have learned with your families so that you can be safe as you walk to and from school.
