06 Jun RSE/Puberty Parent Workshop
Just before half term we held a parent workshop to share information about our RSE curriculum and to offer support to parents as their children begin their journey through puberty.
The workshop began with Miss Yates, our PSHE lead, talking about our RSE curriculum – our RSE policy was reviewed last year in consultation with parents and is available for all parents; it can be found on the policies page of our school website.
Dr Kate Dharmarajah, (a consultant paediatrician who is both a parent and a governor) and Sophie Gunnion-Lasek (the school’s dramatherapist) then shared lots of helpful information and tips about physical changes in puberty, how to talk to your child about those changes and how to support your child emotionally during the journey of puberty.
The slides from the workshop can be found below – it was a really useful time with lots of encouraging conversations and helpful advice – thank you to everyone who came!
