Year 6 Leaver Destinations

Home > About us  > Our School > Year 6 Leaver Destinations

Our Year 6 pupils move on to over 20 different secondary schools. We strongly encourage parents and UKS2 pupils to visit a variety of different schools to find one that feels right and to ensure they continue to develop their unique gifts.

It is with great pride that we say farewell to our Year 6 pupils at the end of each Summer term. Thanks to our aspirational curriculum, our pupils are always extremely well prepared for the rigour of the secondary curriculum; our strong SATS results and specialist teachers in Art, French, Music and PE result in high outcomes in core and foundation subjects and each year a number of pupils are successful in gaining academic or subject specific scholarships and bursaries in both maintained and independent schools.

Our pupils have many opportunities for leadership roles at Christ the Saviour such as worship leaders, digital leaders, House captains, prefects, Librarians, playground leaders and mental health champions. These roles give them experience and confidence in leadership and prepare them well to stand for positions of responsibility in their secondary schools. It is a joy to hear how our pupils thrive in the many different schools they move on to!

Our very strong transition routines support our pupils at this important stage of their education as they move from Primary to Secondary school, ensuring transition is as successful as possible for all our young people.
