12 May Year 3 Parents Taking the Lead
Year 3 have had a wonderful, curriculum enriching month as some of our parents have visited the classrooms to deliver workshops and presentations linked to our Summer Term topics. The parents have shared their expertise from their workplaces and also their family backgrounds. We have explored a Science experiment linked to our unit on plants focusing on photosynthesis and have also had several workshops and presentations linked to our Ancient Egyptian History topic.
In one workshop, run by a parent who works as a Papyrologist, we learnt about how papyrus was restored and how all the delicate artefacts were pieced together. Another parent, who grew up in Egypt when they were young, shared their experiences and memories through photos and discussion. We even got the chance to see some personal photos exploring the chambers of pyramids and key historical landmarks.
We’d like to thank the parents involved for their wonderful visits – we do so appreciate the amazing community we are part of!
