01 Jul 5WK and 5JN Residential
5WK and 5JN had a smooth journey up to Croft Farm Water Park yesterday – everyone was very excited to start their residential! It has been lovely to get out of London and to be next to the lake where we have seen lots of water birds and little ducklings. This morning some children even spotted some wild rabbits!
The children have settled into their pods and cabins brilliantly and are scoring highly on their room inspections with tidy, well made beds, neatly folded clothes and shoes lined up outside the doors – parents you would be proud!
The activities so far have included archery, climbing, abseiling, raft building and water team challenge. It was fantastic to be able to jump into the lake on such a hot day and we are looking forward to more water activities this afternoon and tomorrow morning. To cope with the hot weather the children have quickly got into good routines of filling their water bottles regularly and Ms Jolliffe has been giving lessons on the correct way to apply and reapply suncream.
The Year 5 pupils have shown impressive resilience in the heat, and confidence and determination when faced with new activities. They are showing kindness to one another and learning to develop their listening skills and decision making processes as they work on team activities together.
Please enjoy the photos in the gallery below – if you want to know why Mr Kerller and Ms Ng were dressed up as a pot of mustard and a tomato ketchup bottle for the evening activity you can ask a member of 5WK or 5JN when they get back to school tomorrow!
