Year 5 have truly impressed us with their recent science homework. Building on our classroom lessons about the planets and how they are spaced out in the solar system, each child created a unique representation of the Sun and the eight planets. Some children made colourful posters, while others constructed detailed 3D models. At home, they researched fascinating facts about each planet, including what they look like, their size compared to others, and how far they orbit from the Sun.
Some of the children shared the following:
‘I made an amazing solar system mobile based on how far away planets are from the sun. There are facts about each planet written on the back. My favourite planet is Earth because I live there.’ – Hugh
‘I made a quiz that our class can play about solar systems which include facts about each planet’ – Olivia
“I usually make models. It helps people to see things visually.” – Daniel
Well done to all the children for your creativity and hard work!
